“Saddle Up for Soldiers” will be held on Saturday, November 9
All proceeds benefit the Miles of Smiles Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, currently raising funds for veteran post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) treatment programs and the Builders Without Borders covered arena project at Miles Ranch.
“Events like this are so important to the foundation and help us provide resources such as suicide prevention and mental health programs to veterans that need them”, said Gail Doxie, Founder and Mental Health Counselor. “Taking even the smallest step forward can have a great impact on helping to improve their overall quality of life.”
The family-friendly event is $20 per person and features entertainment by the Ben Allen Band and includes barbecue-style food and a drink. Kids under 12 are free.
In conjunction with Miles Ranch, the foundation provides Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), which, when practiced regularly, nurtures adaptability and assists with developing problem-solving skills, resulting in decreased emotional intensity.
