On Saturday, October 19, 2019, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Fort Myers residence in reference to a sex crime.
Due to the nature of the incident, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
The investigation revealed that 44-year old Antonio Becerril Soria had been molesting a child for several years, starting at the young age of five, and threatened to kill the child and their family if they told anyone.
The child ultimately informed a parent of the abuse, who then confronted Soria about the allegations. Soria denied it and threatened the family if they reported the incident to law enforcement. The parent then contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives completed a thorough investigation, gathered evidence and established probable cause for arrest. The Fugitive Warrants Unit tracked down and arrested Antonio Becerril Soria. Soria was charged with Capital Sexual Battery and Lewd/Lascivious Behavior.
Soria was transported to the Lee County Jail without incident.
